Introduces students to the value of food, its chemical substance & teaches the nature of food stuffs. Experiments: starch test, sugar test, lipids (fat) test, protein test, vitamin C test. Contains: iodine potassium iodide solution, biuret solution, vegetable oil, sudan IV solution. Benedicts mixture A, benedicts B, starch, glucose, absorbic acid, indophenol, protein, test tubes, droppers, instructions and background materials. Grades 5-9.
